The artist, Steve Mozsgae, is a Father of five, living on a small hobby farm in Sebec. He has a passion for working with wood, with 15 yr old son Noah working by his side now. Steve works hard to provide a high quality product, putting the time in with each piece to make sure it's to his satisfaction before selling it.

He finds exotic lumber from all around the world. The process starts with running the wood through a jointer to get two sides flat, then a planer, then cut to length on the chop saw, then cut strips on the table saw. He glues the strips up, then when dry cut the circle out on a band saw. Then he put on a lathe and turn the shape he wants inside and out.  Sanding starts at 60 grit and goes through to 3000 grit, that's 60, 80, 100, 120, 150, 180, 220, 340, 400, 600, 800, 1000, 1200, 1500, 2000, and 3000 grit.  He puts on Mylands sanding sealer and then Mylands Friction polish. He spins the lathe at 800 to 1000 rpm while applying the polish to melt it into the wood. There's a lot of TLC going into each platter!

You can clean with water, don't soak or let sit in water. The wax polish should last a long time.
